Supported source types, what Latently reads, how freshness works, and what happens when you remove a source.

Supported sources

Google Drive

Selected Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDFs, plain text, Markdown, CSV, TSV, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.

Direct uploads

PDF, text, Markdown, CSV, TSV, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files uploaded directly to a project.

Notion

Selected shared pages and data sources, including supported descendants under the selected roots.

Slack

Selected public Slack channels. Private, archived, shared, and externally shared channels are outside V0.1 source selection.

Freshness and sync

    Google Drive refresh checks provider revision or modified time before refetching unchanged selected files.

    Direct uploads are static. Latently stores the extracted text needed for context, not the original uploaded bytes.

    Notion sources are synced from selected roots into ordinary Latently sources.

    Slack public channels are rendered into a readable source body that AI clients can inspect through the same MCP tools.

    If a source looks stale, check the source status in the project before relying on the answer.

Tables

Latently can expose tabular source metadata and table queries for CSV, TSV, Google Sheets, Excel, and Notion data-source row inventories. Slack channel JSON is not treated as a table.

Removing sources

Removing a source removes it from active Latently context. It does not delete the original file, page, or channel from the provider.
