Quickstart
Create one project, add one source, connect one AI client, and confirm Latently is providing useful context.
Before you start
Choose one real piece of work: a client account, launch, research project, product decision, hiring process, or delivery stream. Latently works best when the project boundary is concrete.
- -
Have at least one useful source ready: a Drive file, uploaded document, Notion page or data source, or supported public Slack channel.
- -
Use a source you are allowed to connect or upload.
- -
Use a project name you can remember when prompting your AI client later.
Set up Latently
- 1
Create a project
Sign in, open the app, and create a project for the specific work you want AI tools to understand.
- 2
Add a source
Choose a source from Google Drive, direct upload, Notion, or Slack. Start with one high-signal source rather than everything you can find.
- 3
Wait for the source to finish processing
The source should appear in the project source list with a status. If a source is missing or unsupported, check the Sources and Troubleshooting docs.
- 4
Connect an AI client
Open Settings > AI connections and connect ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Claude Code, or another remote MCP client.
- 5
Ask for the project by name
In your AI client, mention the Latently project you want it to use. This helps the client resolve the correct project before reading sources.
Use my Acme renewal project in Latently. What changed recently, and which source should I read first?Check it worked
- -
The AI client can find the Latently project you named.
- -
It can list or describe the sources attached to that project.
- -
Its answer refers to specific source material instead of giving a generic response.
- -
If the answer feels stale, inspect the source status in Latently and ask the AI client which source it used.
